Inspiration
RescueBot was inspired by the critical need to support emergency dispatchers in high-pressure scenarios. Recognizing the importance of every second, we sought to empower dispatchers with intelligent assistance to minimize errors and enhance response efficiency during life-threatening emergencies.

What it does
RescueBot is a real-time Conversational AI designed to assist emergency dispatchers. It listens to emergency calls, extracts essential details, and suggests evidence-based protocols to ensure quick and accurate responses. Additionally, it offers the shortest relevant video from YouTube to help users understand processes visually.

How we built it
We developed RescueBot using React Native and integrated the Gemini model, fine-tuned to function purely as a rescue assistant. By training it on real-life call transcripts and emergency protocols, it provides accurate and timely suggestions. The YouTube API integration with backend conditions ensures it delivers concise instructional videos alongside textual guidance, enhancing user understanding.

Challenges we ran into
Key challenges included processing chaotic and unclear speech in real-time, ensuring compatibility with various dispatch systems, and building user trust in AI suggestions. Identifying the most relevant and shortest videos added another layer of complexity to backend development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully reduced response times and minimized human error during pilot tests. The seamless integration of the Gemini model with the YouTube API enhanced usability, and RescueBot has become a trusted tool among emergency services.

What we learned
Collaboration with first responders highlighted the importance of simplicity and reliability under pressure. We also realized the value of combining text-based AI responses with video resources for comprehensive support. Continuous learning for AI systems remains crucial for trust and performance.
