Inspiration

Communication is always an issue during natural disasters, people may want to help but have no idea where they can help. Rescue aims to solve this.

What it does

Provides volunteer rescuers with the locations of people in need of rescue. People in need of rescue can send out an SOS request and get notified when someone is coming.

Socket.IO/Node.JS/Express.JS/EJS/MongoDB

Challenges we ran into

Getting Socket.IO to accomplish real time notification/communication between rescuers/rescuees.

How to "survive" sleep deprivation and do everything last minute

What's next for Rescue

Adding routing for rescuers to rescuees, real time tracking of rescuers as they head towards rescuees, etc.
