Inspiration
Having witnessed patients dying due to something as silly as arriving late at a hospital, arriving on time but at a place without specialists, arriving at a hospital that is on strike. We decided to change the status quo and solve the problem of the underprivileged man
What it does
It takes in patient data and finds the list of hospitals with the right specialties, available bed spaces and other facilities like O2 and dialysis machine
How we built it
We stayed awake and used nodeJS, react native and mongoDB.
Challenges we ran into
Lack of availability of data on the bed spaces available. Synchronizing the frontend and backend based on the hackathon's rule Severe Time constraint. Building an app in 24 hours under conditions of low sleep.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Actually finishing a significant part of the app in time for submission
- Working together even when no one wanted to join a team of medical students who program on the side
What we learned
- team work
- using github across branches
- proacctiveness
- presentation skills
What's next for Rescue Link
- By the GRACE of GOD, win this hackathon and save lives.
