As passionate creators ourselves, we know the feeling of pouring our hearts into a project and wondering what others would think about it. 💭
We realized that receiving feedback and recognition from our peers is not only valuable but also incredibly motivating. It pushes us to improve and continue innovating. 🚀
That's when the idea for PeerLance° sparked in our minds - a platform that would allow project creators to showcase their work, receive constructive feedback, and gain recognition from a supportive community. 🌈
So, we created PeerLance° to let project creators receive valuable feedback and recognition from their peers! 🙌

💡 What it does

PeerLance° is an innovative project rating and recognition platform that empowers creators and provides valuable feedback within the community. Backed by the robust and scalable HEDERA network, PeerLance° incorporates HEDERA's advanced features to enhance the platform experience. Here's an expanded look at what PeerLance° offers:

Project Rating:

Users can rate each other's projects based on various categories such as usability, UI, and authenticity. ⭐️
Leveraging HEDERA's fast and secure network, project ratings are recorded and verified with efficiency and immutability.

Reputation System:

The platform features a reputation system that elevates the reputation level associated with each category title for highly-rated projects. 🏆
With HEDERA's consensus mechanism, the reputation system ensures the integrity and reliability of the reputation scores.

Custom Fungible Tokens (HyoBans):

As a form of appreciation and motivation, users receive custom fungible tokens named HyoBans for their high-quality projects and active participation. 💰
Powered by HEDERA's native cryptocurrency, HBAR, HyoBans leverage the fast and low-cost transaction capabilities of the HEDERA network.

Direct Token Transactions:

PeerLance° allows users to directly send their HyoBans to projects they appreciate, encouraging recognition within the community. 🤝
With HEDERA's high throughput and low fees, users can seamlessly and efficiently send and receive HyoBans.

Milestone-Based NFTs:

In addition to fungible tokens, users have the opportunity to earn Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) for achieving project milestones. 🎉
Leveraging HEDERA's support for NFT standards, PeerLance° enables the creation and distribution of unique and provably scarce NFTs to commemorate significant achievements.

Transparent Log Book:

The log book on the HEDERA network serves as a record of review transactions submitted by users.
All review transactions, including ratings and feedback, are securely recorded and appended to the log book, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Smart Contract based Voting:

PeerLance° incorporates a secure and transparent smart contract-based voting system.
Users can participate in voting processes to collectively determine the winners to be showcased on the book of records and for the duration of the week.
Leveraging HEDERA's smart contract capabilities, the voting system ensures fairness and accuracy in the selection of winners.

File Service for Uploading Projects:

PeerLance° provides a file service feature that allows users to upload their projects onto the platform.
Users can securely upload project files, including code repositories, design files, documentation, or other related materials.
Leveraging HEDERA's distributed storage capabilities, the platform ensures the availability and integrity of the uploaded project files.

How we built it

Our platform is completely powered by HEDERA and were able to completely utilise all the features provided by it to power our platform:

👽 Decentralized Identity:

Created a decentralized identity that respects the owner privacy, is secure and standard based.

👾 NFTs:

Helped us build NFT based badges of honor to showcase various milestones achieved.

📝 Decentralized logs:

Provided record keeping which is low-cost, scalable plus publicly verifiable log data with native consensus timestamps - helps to record reviews, NFTs issued and all HyoBan transactions on the platform.

🪙 Custom Fungible Tokens:

Through HEDERA, we were able to create custom fungible tokens - HyoBan (評判) to help users show support for each other and act as a means to gain recognition for their work on our platform.

📂 File Service Storage

We were able to store project details, descriptions, links and images through the File Service Storage provided by HEDERA blockchain.

🤝 Smart Contract Capability

Through the ability of HEDERA to deploy smart contracts, we were able to ensure our voting system was secure, trustless and fair in terms of process and judgement.

📑 Consensus Service

Helped us record ordered event data for transactions that happened on the blockchain, ensuring there is a proof of truth to present in any dispute/disagreement.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

Heavy rain caused frequent electricity cuts, disrupting our workflow.
Technical integrations and compatibility required careful troubleshooting.
Connecting the Hash pack wallet was quite a task, but we were able to pull through!
Iterating on user experience and design for a seamless platform.
Ensuring security and data integrity for user information.
One team member fell sick, temporarily impacting our productivity.

We were able to make a fully functional product which not only is a generic NFT based platform but blockchain backend based solid use case driven

Effective time management despite so many challenges
How important it is to plan out features first, feature planning takes up a lot of time
We were able to integrate and learn a lot about the features we implemented and were also learn about Blockchain related terms and technologies
