Inspiration:
- The events of 2020 and 2021 that brought attention to the broken relationship between marginalized communities and the government.
Overall Idea:
- Creating a platform to supply legal information and resources to minority communities to rebuild a connection between the government and minorities
What it does:
- Gives people information about their representatives and provides resources to contact them about different legislation or concerns
- Ability to sets up and notify people of political events happening locally
How we built it:
- Created a Figma Prototype and then implemented code to make a Website
Challenges we ran into:
- Collaborating in a remote environment
- Accessing proper APIs needed to retrieve the information needed for our site
- Connecting the domain legalU.tech to the site
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
- Creating a functional website
What we learned:
- How to use APIs
- Features of Javascript
- How to add images to a website using HTML
What's next for RepU:
- Given more time, we would have liked to incorporate APIs to all our features to make the site fully functional for all zip codes
Built With
- css
- figma
- html
- javascript
