Inspiration

Studies have shown that the population is living an increasingly sedentary lifestyle owing to the commonality of desktop compute devices and desk-bound jobs . We wanted to build a product that keeps these individuals committed and motivated to staying active amidst their digital lifestyles.

What it does

We built an application inspired by the controversial Epstein files. The application employs the use of evilstein that periodically redacts parts of a users display, as a reminder to stay active by curling weights to undo said redactions. The user holds a gyroscope-equipped dumbell and has to do $n$ number of reps, undoing the redaction done by evilstein.

How we built it

An ESP32 is hooked up to a gyroscope to record the number of reps done by a user. It's then transmitted via Bluetooth to a host computer, which runs the software to redact (Epstein-ise) your screen if the KPI is not hit.

Challenges we ran into

Merge conflicts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Jeffrey Epstein.

What we learned

Some forms of hardware aren't too hard, and some forms of software aren't too soft.

What's next for Repstein

Not sure, suggestions are welcome.
