Alice's mysterious collection of stuff contained an electric guitar, but no amplifier. In completely unrelated conversation, we discussed making a 3d printer play music ...

How it works

The basic idea is to connect both guitar and printer to a computer (replaceable with a raspberry pi for portability). The computer determines the dominant frequencies, and the corresponding stepper motor speeds required generate the same frequency. This gets transferred to Gcode and sent to the printer via serial in real time.

What's next for RepR"Amp" - a 3d printer guitar amplifier

Better methods of estimating the note played by the guitar and also an actual understanding of which frequencies get emitted by a stepper motor (w.r.t. the microstep setting and the full frequency).
