Inspiration
All of us grew up with all sorts of games and game genres including MOBAs, auto battlers, strategy games, and we always wanted to make a project that revolved around our experience with them. Given the nature of this hackathon, we thought that this was the best opportunity to create something that was fun and followed that concept.
What it does
Replayed is a website that allows users to guess the competitive ladder rank of user submitted clips for games they see on their feed. Once they guess, they are told if they guessed correctly and are shown statistics about the distribution of guesses from other users. They are also able to comment and share their thoughts in a comment section specific to the clip they just rated. Additionally, they can upload their own clips to be rated by other users.
How we built it
We utilized SvelteKit, Tailwind, Supabase, Chart.js, and TypeScript to build this project.
Challenges we ran into
There were a number of challenges we ran into while building this project. Some of these challenges include getting the distribution of guesses to display properly and implementing a viable comment section that fits within our set comment boundaries. The page is not yet mobile compatible due to time constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some accomplishments we’re proud of are the fact that we got our database working for submitted clips and successfully being able to use SvelteKit and Supabase for the first time.
What we learnedl
We learned a lot about how to set up and manage databases, how to make a comment section from scratch, and how to utilize SvelteKit and Supabase.
What's next for Replayed
Looking forward, we are hoping to support more games, improve our UI design, UX experience, and grow our user-base community.
