Inspiration
Generative AI has become widely popular with many forms of media, such as text and images. While playlist generation is not technically difficult, it hasn't picked up steam due to poor UI/UX, lack of features, and convenient integration. We're here to change that.
What it does
- Prompt-to-playlist generation
- Integration with Spotify to save playlists
- Gallery platform displaying generated playlists and prompts
- Semantic search to discover similar playlists
How we built it
We prompted ChatGPT to generate song titles, image, and description according to user specifications. Then we piped the output into a Spotify API to automatically add the generated playlist to the users Spotify. We also implemented semantic search to find similar playlists, and created a user-friendly interface with React.
Challenges we ran into
We pivoted project ideas halfway through the hackathon, so we struggled with time constraints. Fortunately, we were still able to produce a viable product.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Much of our product seems simple but is deceptively difficult to implement; for example, integrating with Spotify OAuth.
What's next for Playflow
- Going viral -Stable Diffusion made beautiful images go viral. We'll do it for playlists.
- Data Accumulation - Once a critical mass of users is reached, we will be able to fine-tune our models to generate better and better playlists.
- Pulling ahead of the competition - More users = more data. More data = better models. Better models = more users.
