Inspiration: My own lack of productivity and aversion to even schedule my routines, much less my tasks
What it does: Allows for users to schedule and edit single-time, daily, weekly, and monthly task/ habits/ deadlines within their specified window of dates with ease. Also allows for users to color-code tasks by priorities.
How we built it: Using VS Code, Javascript, React list view templete from FullCalendar.io, and ChatGPT
Challenges we ran into: This was my first time using JavaScript and React template, so I was using ChatGPT to understand the code and how to implement the code. The code ended up being very long, so I needed to split up some functions in the .jsx file into separate .js files. Working alone and figuring what I was doing and what the LLM was suggesting was the biggest hurdle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: splitting up the .jsx file into separate .js files for readability was my favorite accomplishment, as well as the idea to implement const [editScope, setEditScope] = useState('ONE'); and the ability to switch it from ONE to ALL so that users can have either edit one occurance of a repeated task or every occurance of the same task, though needed me to add a seriesId property to the task object in saveEditedTask.js so that repeating tasks can be identified together, no matter if they were spaced by days, weeks, or months.
What we learned
A peek at how .jsx work to combine .html and .js files, my first experience with JavaScript and a taste of Frontend developing using VSCode and localhost.
