Renty is a website where people can post items they have lying around that others might need. Think of Amazon: a broad selection of all the items you could possibly imagine, except everything is for rent. This way, we can reduce on unecessary clutter around our houses (by not buying a new item you might only use once) while also allowing the renting owner to make some quick cash for items they maybe haven't needed in a few years. The driving force behind Renty was to solve a consumerism problem for people. Personally, I know that I have often bought an item I thought I needed, only to never use it again after its first initial use.

What I did this hackathon: This hackathon, I wanted to get the bare bones idea and bare bones UI down for my project. Working alone, the pace was considerably slow.

What I want to do with this in the future/post-SDHacks: The next challenge for me is to build the backend of everything. Make it so 'Login' actually logs someone in. Make it so 'Post' will actually register an item in the database,e tc. I don't have any (very little) experience with back-end, so I am excited to work on that.
