Inspiration

What inspired us to do this project is the real estate market has been skyrocketing lately. This will lead people to have no choice but to rent out a house. Our mission is to minimalize this process into three most important factors which are the number of bedrooms. the number of bathrooms, and of course the budget. With this, we are able to limit down the searches fast so that we can give the time for them to choose the appearance of the house.

What it does

It asks the users to input the number of bedrooms and bathrooms they want, as well as their budget for each month's rent. With that, we are able to narrow it down into many options of homes in their area. After choosing the dream house they want, they are able to see the interior side of the house and see how they pay for rent each month.

How we built it

We used realty mole property API to get the JSON file and data. We also used Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, and JS.

Challenges we ran into

There was a problem of having to pay to use the APIs and having a hard time trying to retrieve data. Moreover, there was some trouble with the backend trying to communicate with the frontend. Lastly, there were some bugs that took a lot of our time to get rid of.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to make a functioning website using Division Sigma's workshops to actually build a rental website that could possibly find the customer's dream home.

What we learned

We were learning while implementing. For a large majority of us, this is our first hackathon and we are very proud to say that we learned many things in the journey. For example, we were learning Django, Flask, Python, HTML, JSS, CSS, and usage of APIs.

What's next for Rental Paradise

Next up on Rental Paradise is probably going to put more options for the user interface and more homes to display for the consumer.
