What's next for Rental Application Pack
Entrant: Drilon Miftari, Cologne, Germany. Track: Automate Your Workflow.
1. What does the Skill do?
It builds a checked rental application document pack from the user's own NAS files and lists what is missing, outdated or inconsistent before anything goes to a landlord.
2. Target user and problem
Renters in tight housing markets such as Germany, where landlords expect payslips, an employment letter, a credit report, a landlord letter and an ID copy within hours of a viewing. People hunt through folders, send outdated reports or mismatched names, and lose the apartment.
3. Solution
One sentence like "prepare my apartment application" finds the documents, reads them locally, checks completeness, freshness and consistency, and, after approval, copies the chosen files into one pack folder with a checklist.
4. Core user flow
User names the source folder, applicants and application date. The Skill finds documents, classifies them, cross-checks them, shows a review (present, missing, outdated, unreadable, mismatch), waits for approval, creates the pack folder, copies files and saves the checklist.
5. Difference from existing tools
Cloud assistants need the user to upload highly sensitive documents. This Skill keeps identity, income and credit data on the home NAS, never moves originals, and produces a verified pack plus an honest gap list instead of a generic summary.
6. UGREEN AI NAS capabilities and steps
Step 1 ug-filesystem find (file-agent). Step 2 ug-document extract, schema mixed (document-agent). Step 3 ug-document reconcile (document-agent). Step 5 ug-filesystem mkdir and cpmv with copy and no overwrite (file-agent). Step 6 ug-knowledge save-text (knowledge-agent).
7. Technical approach
An orchestration Skill with six delegations. Each step passes only real paths and values returned by the previous step. Inputs: source folder, applicants, application date, pack folder name. Folder creation, copying and saving wait for user approval; nothing is deleted, moved, sent or shared. Freshness rules live in a referenced Markdown file. Model: the NAS local model is preferred so documents stay on the device.
8. Development status
Implemented: SKILL.md and references/pack-rules.md, passing the official checker with zero errors and zero warnings. Not yet implemented: tuning of extraction prompts on real scanned payslips. Pending NAS validation: extract and reconcile quality on German documents, approval prompts, and save-text output.
9. Validation plan
Core case 1: a folder with three consecutive payslips, contract, credit report, landlord letter and ID copy produces a complete pack and checklist. Core case 2: a credit report older than three months is flagged as outdated and the pack is not called complete. Edge case: an empty or wrong folder reports "no documents found" and stops without searching elsewhere.
10. Known limitations
Quality depends on scan readability and on extract handling German layouts. Freshness limits are common landlord expectations, not law. One source folder per run. No external services or third-party components.
Third-party components: none. AI tools: an AI writing assistant helped draft text; the official UGOS Skill Creation Tool checker validated the package; the entrant reviewed all content.
