Inspiration
15 million people are affected by stroke every year. Of this, 60% become disabled, experiencing significant motor in payments that require complete rehabilitation. But during traditional habitation methods, 33% of patients experience depression and apathy would sharply reduce their motivation to participate in rehabilitation process and significantly slows down the recovery process.
What it does
The objective of this research is to develop ReMotion, a gaming device for the rehabilitation of fine motor functions in stroke patients, aiming to enhance patient motivation, accelerate motor skill recovery, and improve quality of life.
How we built it
We incorporated C++ programming language for the “Flappy Bird” game built in the device, Java script for the visualisation of data in the html website.
Challenges we ran into
Creating a website to display the received data in the form of graphics.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Development of a hardware and software complex that helps track patients' achievements.
What we learned
Formatting and depicting the movements of elements, creating obstacles and collisions.
What's next for ReMotion
Incorporating EEG and EMG for monitoring brain and muscle activity.
