Inspiration:

As college students, the amount of assignments and quizzes we need to keep up with can be overwhelming, especially when taking multiple classes. Sometimes due dates are missed and students struggle to prioritize which tasks should be done first. After realizing this, we were inspired to create a centralized place where students can input all their assignments to be prioritized and reminded automatically by deadline!!

What it does

RemindMe neatly and efficiently organizes the messy and overwhelming list of all assignments and tasks for all courses into one place for college students. Not only does it send you reminders based on upcoming due dates, "smart reminders" can also help users get started on their tasks in a timely manner rather than the day before. In addition, RemindMe has a built-in AI program that can read through a copy of the syllabus and an "auto-add" feature for assignments by scanning the name and due date. Our app helps guide students as they transition from high school to college, and strives to prevent burnout, stress, low self-esteem and other issues that can stem from lack of organization/time management/prioritizing.

For example, "smart reminders" send the student push-notifications of subtasks for their assignment. If an assignment is categorized as "essay", the notification may look like this: 1.) "Have you started on your outline yet?" 2.) "Have you started researching your topic?" 3.) "The essay is due in 1 day! Is your essay formatted according to the given guidelines?"

How we built it

We built this using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

Learning curve of using Figma can be challenging. Translating our physical sketches into a digital prototype was also a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of how the layout of each page looks and the overall cohesiveness of the application. The design of this app is easy to use and navigate for all ages. It's inclusive of everyone that is in the process of learning, whether that is through online learning or in-person.

What we learned

We learned how to use Figma, research the design methods that goes into building an app, and build off of each other's ideas through effective communication.

What's next for RemindMe

In the future, we hope to design more websites or phone apps that can either make 1.) Organization easier 2.) Learning more engaging 3.) Communication with students around the world easier, without a language barrier
