Inspiration
We found that we often don't listen to reminders we are given but if they come in the form of a text message we quickly check them and are more likely to follow what they say.
What it does
Sends you a reminder every day at a certain time with a demotivational message with it.
How we built it
We used the twilio api to send the text messages daily, and flask, sqlite, html, and css for the backend and frontend.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting to the sqlite database was very difficult as well as scheduling the message to send at a certain time every day.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud we were able to finish this project of and really happy, especially with the demotivational messages.
What we learned
We got to learn lots about flask and how routing works as well as how to use the twilio api.
What's next for Remindify
In the future we would like to create a more robust backend, and make it a more scalable application.
