Inspiration

It was inspired by hearing how other rely heavy on facial category on google api and next two Monday is national Holocaust memorial day.

What it does

This app allows users to perform live ML facial image analysis on images related to the Holocaust.

How I built it

I used a ML kit code template, in Java, to start and linked it to the FireBase, in case of needing to perform cloud based tensor flow categorization modeling.

Challenges I ran into

  • limitation in facial recognition on historic images
  • limit in scope of item detection
  • old dated tutorials even thought they are written last year and two years ago

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • first time building in a ML based app by myself

What I learned

  • various way of organizing an android app through tutorials

What's next for Remembrance-1945

  • may need to take it to be more of an web format, need a more heavy duty CNN analysis/approach
