Inspiration
This project is inspired by those moments when you want to look someone up but you can't remember their name. Say you make a friend at cmd-f and get their contact info but when you want to look them up two weeks later you can't remember their name - all you remember is that you met them at cmd-f. RememberMe allows you to input all the little details that come with making a connection, like the event and location of where you met them and even miscellaneous notes (ex. they have a stamp collection!).
What it does
RememberMe is a web application that allows you to:
- add a new connection (this includes adding all their profile details such as name, event, location, profile URL, date, and notes)
- find a connection (based on fields provided by the user)
- list all connections
How we built it
We used mongodb for the database, React for the front-end and node.js to tie it all together. We used Figma to design mockups for our app.
Challenges we ran into
We all basically learnt node.js, mongodb, and React within the Hackathon timeframe so we were all very new to the technology we were using.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a working final product!
What we learned
What goes into full-stack development.
What's next for RememberMe
Ideally we would like to expand this so you can search by characteristics (such as the details in the notes section, for now you can only search by Person traits). Also in future, if two people are at an event together if they could automatically add each other as connections due to proximity.
