Inspiration

Everyday tasks can be easy to forget, especially when people have busy schedules. I wanted to build a simple reminder assistant that lets people manage their tasks using natural language instead of complicated forms.

This idea led to RememberMe AI, with the tagline: “Remember less. Live more.”

What it does

RememberMe AI is a personal reminder assistant that helps users manage everyday tasks. Users can:

  • Create reminders using simple sentences.
  • View pending, upcoming, and completed reminders.
  • Mark tasks as completed or reopen them.
  • Edit, reschedule, and delete reminders.
  • Use voice input in compatible browsers.
  • Receive browser notifications while the website is open.

How we built it

I built RememberMe AI using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. I used JavaScript to process reminder requests, manage tasks, and update the interface. Browser local storage saves reminders so they remain available when the website is reopened in the same browser. I also added voice input using the browser's Web Speech API and optional browser notifications. Finally, I deployed the project using Vercel and made the source code available on GitHub.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was understanding different ways users might express reminder times in everyday language. I worked on handling date and time expressions, clarifying ambiguous requests, and managing actions such as completing, editing, and rescheduling reminders.

Testing the application and fixing issues in the interaction flow also helped me understand the importance of reliable behavior and clear feedback.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have turned an idea into a working, publicly accessible web prototype. The project includes reminder management, natural-language input, browser storage, voice input, and a simple interface.

As a beginner developer, completing the development, testing, and deployment process was an important learning milestone for me.

What we learned

Through this project, I gained practical experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser APIs, local storage, debugging, GitHub, and deployment.

I also learned that building a useful application requires more than creating an interface. It involves testing real user interactions, handling unexpected inputs, and clearly communicating what the application can and cannot do.

What's next for RememberMe-Ai

In the future, I would like to improve natural-language understanding, make the interface more accessible, explore multilingual support, and investigate more reliable reminder delivery options.

I also want to continue testing the application with different users and improve it based on their feedback.

RememberMe AI is an independent, Alexa+-inspired web prototype created for the Amazon Developer Hackathon 2026, Alexa+ Track. It is not an official Amazon Alexa integration.
