Inspiration
i lost my grandfather recently, and it was really hard. i kept wishing i could talk to him one more time. so i made something that lets people do that, even if just a little.
What it does
rememberme lets you create a chatbot that acts like someone you lost. you just fill out some things about them ( how they talked, what they cared about_) and it builds a chat that feels like them.
How we built it
i used html, tailwind, and javascript for the front. backend was python flask. when you submit the form, it turns your answers into a json file and sends it to an ai model that responds like the person you described.
Challenges we ran into
it was hard to make it feel real without being weird. we didn’t want it to feel fake or creepy. also, making the chat feel personal from just a few inputs was tricky
Accomplishments that we're proud of
we made something people could feel something from. not just code, but something that made people stop and think or feel. that felt really cool.
What we learned
we learned that even small projects can mean something. and that ai doesn’t have to be big or smart — just thoughtful.
What's next for RememberMe
we want to let users save chats, maybe add voice
