Inspiration

“Remember Me” was inspired by the heart of The Monster Library: small, gentle characters navigating big, human emotions. We wanted to explore love, memory loss, and hope through Jack and Maya, two plush monsters who survive a wildfire and build a life together, only to face the quiet heartbreak of forgetting. The film draws from fable traditions, emotional storytelling, and the symbolism of seeds, fire, and regrowth.

What it does

This project tells a complete animated fable about love’s ability to help memories bloom again. Through music, soft cinematics, and storybook framing, “Remember Me” shows how hope can grow even from ashes, and how a single seed can hold an entire past.

How we built it

We created the film using a hybrid AI-assisted pipeline: generating 3D style visuals, developing detailed shot lists, writing narration in a storybook voice, and designing a cohesive world that feels handcrafted and emotional. Every moment, fire sequences, dawn lighting, memory montages, was shaped with consistent character prompts and visual direction.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenges were maintaining visual continuity, handling memory loss with emotional honesty, matching lighting across sequences, and ensuring Jack and Maya remained consistent across all shots. Integrating the storybook ending into the Monster Library world also required careful tonal balance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a fully realized short film concept from scratch: a complete narrative, cinematic shot plan, consistent characters, and a powerful emotional arc. We also established a repeatable creative pipeline for future Monster Library films.

What we learned

We learned that AI becomes most powerful when guided by strong emotional intention. Consistency, clarity, and theme matter far more than tools. And even in an AI-native pipeline, the heart of the story must remain deeply human.

What's next for Remember Me

Next, we plan to bring the full film to life with animation, voice acting, music production, and a refined edit for festivals and The Monster Library channels. “Remember Me” will be the first chapter in a larger storybook world we’re building, one filled with love, hope, memory, and gentle monsters.
