Inspiration
The pandemic has changed many lives and in such a time, vaccines have proved to be a ray of hope. Inspired by the categories of equity and efficiency, we created a project that combines both and promotes individuals to make informed decisions about their vaccine doses and makes it easier for them to obtain.
What it does
Firstly, Remedy helps the user determine which group they belong to. Then the app gives more information about the COVID vaccines and helps the user find the nearest vaccine center.
How we built it
We built the app using Figma, PHP, Python, HTML, React, and MongoDB. We gathered information from the CDC websites and https://vaccinefinder.org/search/.
Challenges we ran into
Due to the time constraint, we were able to bridge elements of the project together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that the app can be used by all kinds of users and tackles current day issues.
What we learned
We learned the importance of collaboration. For example, collaboration on the front-end and back-end proved to be crucial to our project. We also learned how important each second is in such a hackathon.
What's next for Remedy
We plan on completing the coding part for Remedy to see it come together as a web app. We want to work more on the intricate details of the project and improve and include more features. For example, we want to be able to include a page where users can report their symptoms.
