Inspiration

When I first moved to the United States, I experienced how frustrating and complex it is to manage address updates across multiple services. A week after opening my bank account, I was hacked and had to block my card and request a replacement. At the time, all my account details were linked to my university accommodation address. My new card was sent to that old address, and since I had already moved and didn’t collect it, it was returned. I ended up without access to my money for almost two weeks. It was stressful, and I realized how easy it is to forget to update your address across all platforms. This experience revealed a real problem address updates are fragmented, easy to miss, and can have serious consequences. (Nyasha)

What it does

ReloSafe is a centralized platform that allows users to update their address once and securely sync that update across multiple services such as banks, delivery platforms, and subscriptions. Instead of manually updating each service, users can manage everything in one place. The platform also allows users to control which services receive their updated information, ensuring both convenience and privacy.

How we built it

We designed a simple and intuitive user interface where users can input a new address and select which services to update. The system uses a centralized database to store user information securely. We simulated API integrations to demonstrate how address updates can be shared with different companies in real time. We also incorporated concepts such as verification and permission-based data sharing to ensure security and trust.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was ensuring data security and user trust, since address information is sensitive. We had to carefully design how data is shared and protected. Another challenge was integration, as not all companies provide open systems for automatic updates. We addressed this by simulating how integrations would work. We also had to balance simplicity with functionality, making sure the platform is easy to use while solving a complex problem.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of identifying a real-world problem based on personal experience and turning it into a scalable solution. We successfully designed a platform that simplifies a complex process into a single action. We also incorporated security, user control, and business value into our solution.

What we learned

We learned the importance of designing solutions around real user pain points. Even simple problems can have significant impacts if not solved properly. We also gained experience in thinking about system design, data security, and how to build a platform that serves both users and companies.

What's next for ReloSafe

In the future, we plan to expand integrations with real companies and develop a fully functional API system. We also aim to enhance verification features, including identity and age verification, and improve real-time address updates using smart location detection. Our long-term goal is to position ReloSafe as a trusted digital identity and address management platform used across multiple industries.
