About ReLoop
💡 Inspiration
We noticed that many useful materials are often thrown away simply because they are no longer needed by their current owners. Leftover fabric, unused wood, stationery, electronics, and other resources could still be useful to someone else.
This inspired us to create ReLoop — One Resource, Many Possibilities, a platform that connects people who have unused resources with those who can give them a new purpose.
🛠️ How We Built It
ReLoop is a web application built with React and Supabase. Users can create accounts, share available resources, and discover resources posted by others.
We also integrated Leaflet with OpenStreetMap to provide an interactive map, making it easier for users to understand where resources are available.
📚 What We Learned
Building ReLoop gave us hands-on experience in developing a complete web application, working with databases and authentication, integrating maps, and connecting different parts of a system together.
We also learned how important good database design, security, usability, and teamwork are when turning an idea into a working product.
🚧 Challenges We Faced
One of our biggest challenges was connecting the different parts of the application and ensuring that user data and resources were handled securely.
We also had to figure out how to integrate location-based features and make the platform simple and intuitive for users.
These challenges helped us improve our problem-solving skills and understand the process of building and refining a real-world application.
🌱 Our Goal
ReLoop is built around a simple idea: something that is unused by one person can be valuable to another.
By helping people discover and reuse available resources, we hope to reduce unnecessary waste and encourage a more sustainable, resource-conscious community.
