Relocation Companion

Inspiration

We live in the modern times where we can one day spontaneously say, "It is time for a change of scenery". With advance modes of transportations, you can be anywhere in the continental United States or around the world in mere hours. With this type of change we want to help users make the best choice when it comes to their relocation destination.

What it does

This application uses a questionnaire in which users' unique choices to the questions creates a weighted score based on 4 categories. These weighted scores will be compared with the weighted scores that other cities receive to find the best fit relocation destination.

How we built it

Relocation Companion is built on Python which has a robust library of data science plugins to help read large API datasets and find correlation and assign weighted scores.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was navigating large data sets to find useful data that can be used for the weighted scores.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being the first UGA HACKS 8 I am happy to be able to be a part of this great community and submit a project.

What we learned

We learned how to analyze big data sets and find correlations in data which then is used to help people find their next relocation destination.

What's next for Relocation Companion

I would like to continue develop into a functional web-based application. Expansion into more cities around the continental United States and the world.
