Inspiration
Many people struggle to maintain healthy eating habits, especially on a university campus. Others struggle to remember to eat or find no motivation to do so. We decided to build an app that reminds users to eat meals and creates fulfillment in doing so, turning the mundane task of eating into something enjoyable.
What it does
The main function of Relish allows users to take a photo of their meals. Their photo will be compiled into a calendar that allows the user to track what they eat. Other features include a friends tab, where the user can browse their friends' meals, a goal tracker, where the user can set a goal for the number of meals they wish to eat, and statistics and details in every meal, where the user rates and customizes all of their entries, allowing for better tracking.
How we built it
We used Figma and Figma Make.
Challenges we ran into
Originally, we tried to use components to simplify the design process. However, they were difficult to use and often overrode our frames. We lost around 4 hours trying to fix them before deciding to restart.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The name of the app is a pun on the word "relish" and the condiment.
What we learned
We learned to use Figma better and work with Figma Make.
What's next for Relish
We hope to incorporate hand-drawn designs for symbols in the future.
