Inspiration:--

PROBLEM : ** The mining industry is known worldwide for its highly risky and hazardous working environment. Mining workers are affected by many hazards. ** Probably there is no communication mechanism available like internet facility for the transfer of Hazardous data like Ceiling Fall, Gas Explosion, Mine Flooding, Irregular Human Vitals i.e. Heart Beat and Blood Oxygen Levels. ** Basically there is a requirement of a smart device or clothing system for the solution that could resolve the problem of transferring these data to the control room with no internet facility.

Abstract — IoT has been recently expanded across different applications which brought a huge attention to the implementation of this project for the mining field, where a noisy industrial environment can take place in. The main objective of this project is to design and develop a smart helmet and clothing system for mining industry application. The system will provide Realtime monitoring of the hazardous events such as increase in temperature and humidity, release of gasses like Methane and Carbon Monoxide, conscious and unconscious state of the miner, removal of helmet of the miner and obstacle damage to the helmet. The programming and troubleshooting will be conducted on mainly two sections, helmet section and control room section that means the system will have a transmitter to transmit necessary data and Alerts to the control room or nearest manager and a receiver that can be used by the control room or the managers to grab the data and alerts from the transmitter. On the other side the system also syncs the data to the firebase database. The above systems include the use of several sensors like IR sensor, Proximity sensor, Humidity Sensor, Gas sensor, and several other modules and microprocessors like node MCU. On the major side it will take an attempt to keep Realtime data over the cloud to the database along with email alerts. What it does

The Idea is to design and develop a Smart Helmet & Suit System for mining industry application. We propose a protective helmet which comes with many sensors for various analysis and alerts. At first, harmful gases are detected using gas sensors. Whenever a toxic gas like Methane or Carbon Monoxide is detected, the sensor alerts the user and control room along with email sent to family members. Secondly, an IR sensor built into the helmet successfully determines whether the helmet came out of the worker's head. Third comes the Pulse Oximeter Sensor that measures the worker's heart rate and saturation of blood oxygen (SPO2) for health concerns. Similarly, the thermal probe measures the body temperature. Unexpected dangerous situations such as temperature and humidity rise are sent to the control station via continuous wireless transmitters for monitoring. The Existing Systems only focus on the Local transmission of data and alerts. The Proposed System focuses on both Local Transmission and Realtime Synchronisation to the Google Firebase Database. It also provides access to the data through local IP Address of the System. The System also provides Email alerts. Above all the project focuses on controlling and accessing the system data through a Mobile Application which can be used by the family members to keep a track on the health of the worker. The Existing Systems make use of different microprocessors which needs an extra component for wireless communication. The Proposed System uses the embedded module i.e., ESP32 MCU which has an inbuilt Wi-Fi and Web Server and is also power efficient which ultimately saves the battery life. The System also makes use of Piezoelectric battery charging to avoid system failure and uninterrupted use of the system. The Product also has a business scope as it can be utilized in several other sectors by simply removing or adding a few sensors as per the requirement of the industry.

How we built it

Novel The Existing Systems only focus on the Local transmission of data and alerts whereas The Proposed System focuses on both Local Transmission and Realtime Synchronisation to the Google Firebase Database and also provides access to the data through local IP Address of the System. The System also provides Email alerts. Above all our project focuses on controlling and accessing the system data through a Mobile Application which can be used by the family members to keep a track on the health of the worker. The Existing Systems make use of different microprocessors which needs an extra component for wireless communication whereas the Proposed System uses the embedded module i.e. ESP32 MCU which has an inbuilt Wi-Fi and Web Server and is also power efficient which ultimately saves the battery life. The System also makes use of Piezoelectric battery charging to avoid system failure and uninterrupted use of the system.

The system includes various sensors such as the Temperature, Humidity, IR sensor, Pulse Oximeter, Thermal Probe, Ultrasonic Sensor and Gas sensor. Temperature and Humidity sensor is used to monitor the surrounding environment. An IR sensor intimates central console whenever the miner removes their helmet off their head. Gas sensor is used to detect the presence of poisonous gases like methane and carbon monoxide in the atmosphere. Panic switch can manually be operated by the worker to seek help from the central console in high emergency conditions.

We have made an overall solution for the workers who work in hazardous condition risking there life daily and transferring of information health to the manager as well as family members.

What we learned

Just Building a clothing system is not enough the main challenge is transfer of data from the depth of mines to the manager who is sitting outside the mines.

What's next for RELENTLESS & REALTIME SMART WORKER SUIT & ANDROID APP

To design an Architecture that satisfies the novel of the Project. To design a circuit that can accumulate all the components of the Architecture. To develop a proper Arduino IDE code that can accept all the features of the System. To design a database structure to store per user data separately. To design and develop an Android Application to control the database.
