Inspiration: Hospital patients seen with pressure wounds during our experience as occupational therapy students on placement.
What it does: A cost-effective alternating pressure mattress that continually monitors pressure levels at common pressure injury sites including the coccyx and heels. Air packets at these sites will deflate or inflate to help a patient decrease risk of developing a pressure ulcer.
How we built it: Discussion with mentors, attending workshops, collaboration with team.
Challenges we ran into: Technical difficulties, time differences.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Presentable finished product.
What we learned: Value of collaboration.
What's next for ReLEAF: Continued development of prototype and creation of a minimal viable product.
