About the Project

This project began from a very personal place.
I noticed how, in our own lives – work, kids, endless tasks – our relationship as a couple was getting less and less space. Not one big fight, but a quiet erosion of the everyday. I wanted to create a film that pauses the routine for a moment and gently asks: what happens to “us” inside all of this?

Inspiration

The inspiration came only from my personal life:

  • From the small moments when I realized that most of the time we’re the “operations team” of the household, and less of a couple.
  • From the feeling that the relationship is constantly being pushed to the bottom of the priority list.

Even though I know many other couples go through the same thing, the starting point of the film is entirely my own story and my own home.

What I Learned

While creating the film, I learned that:

  • Sometimes just stopping and looking at ourselves from the outside is enough to understand how far we’ve drifted.
  • Small moments of connection – a short conversation, a smile, a hand on the shoulder – can shift the whole atmosphere at home.
  • When you invest in the relationship, something in the entire home calms down: for the kids, and for us.

I also learned how to turn an internal feeling into a cinematic experience – how to film emotional distance, and how to express closeness through glances and small movements.

How I Built the Project

To build the film, I worked in clear stages:

  1. Writing the Script
I started with writing – shaping the story, choosing the everyday moments that would show both the erosion and the possibility of repair.

  2. Creating a Moodboard
I collected references for colors, atmosphere, camera angles, and visual style – to feel the world of the film even before shooting.

  3. Building a Work Model
I defined a workflow for myself: how to divide the stages, what I need to learn and when, and in what order to approach writing, shooting, and editing.

  4. Starting the Actual Creation
From there I began to create: filming, trying, making mistakes, improving – and turning the idea into something alive and present on screen.

Challenges Along the Way

The main challenge was finding time and space for the project within a very busy life:

  • Making time to learn the technical tools needed for creation (filming, editing, software, etc.).
  • Investing hours in the film while also dealing with a full-time job and running a home and family.

The emotional “equation” along the way looked something like this:

$$ \text{Workload} + \text{Running a household} + \text{Learning new tools} \rightarrow \text{Need for persistence and high motivation} $$

It meant a conscious choice to “steal” time – from tiredness, from rest, and sometimes from other things – in order not to give up on the project.

In the End

This film is an honest, simple attempt to look at my own home from the outside and ask:
Where are we in all of this, as a couple?

It’s a reminder to myself, and to anyone who watches, that love doesn’t shatter in a moment – it slowly fades under layers of routine. But with awareness, learning, and
