Inspiration

I was inspired by Match.com and ChildrensHealths challenges, I think it's a good way for people to connect and help each other personally through these tough experiences of life, especially for children who are even harder to explain to them what they are going through.

What it does

People will be able to browse between different families that are going through situations like this using a Tinder-like interface until they find one they can relate to and they are able to send them positive videos and messages to teach and encourage the children.

How we built it

It's a native mobile application built in Swift, only for iOS.

Challenges we ran into

A lot of things related to the content (videos and conversations) management, come up with a simple way to present the different families and have something usable and accessible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This app could be used in reality to bring joy to families going through hard times, even now more than ever that everyone is trying to connect with more people and have actions that can help the community.

What we learned

Pretty much that human connection is a big area to explore in too many fields and it's something worth exploring and combine with any type of industry.

What's next for Relatable

If there is interest from other people maybe the project could continue, all the content is user generated and I think it will be helpful for families even if there are only 2 users and that's what technologies are meant for, to help us as a society.
