Inspiration
We saw a lot of people having trouble keeping up with friends, especially during COVID, and we sought a solution.
What it does
This is a web-app focused on providing reminders and suggested conversation topics for friends and family afraid of losing touch.
How we built it
We built this web app using Velo and a Python Flask backend.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of problems fetching our Flask API with Velo, and we ran out of memory so we could not include our NLP model which we spent a lot of time working on.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The NLP model worked, we just couldn't include it. The web app looks nice.
What we learned
We learned how to use Velo, how to make a Flask API, a bit about natural language processing, and how to develop an app as a team!
What's next for ReKindl
We hope to finish the original vision for this app, possibly outside of the Velo framework because of all of the challenges it represented.
