Inspiration
We enjoy travelling and trying out new experiences. This project made us work on something we are passionate about!
What it does
Rejoyn is a web app designed to help groups of friends find their ideal getaway destination based on individual preferences. Using a weighted scoring system, our app aggregates user inputs to suggest the top 10 destinations that cater to everyone's interests.
How we built it
- Backend: Python FastAPI
- Frontend: React Router + TypeScript + Bootstrap
- Database: MySQL
- APIs: Gemini, Pexel
Challenges we ran into
- The biggest one was, unfortunately, losing one team member before the hackathon, and another one during the hackathon.
- When it comes to our project, we had too many ideas and so little time. Prioritising wasn't an easy task.
- React now requires type definitions, and we weren't familiar with Typescript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successful implementation of FastAPI and TypeScript frameworks.
- Integration of AI into web apps.
- Valuable connections and networking opportunities at the hackathon.
