Rehab Right is a mobile app that delivers guided rehab programs for common injuries and conditions. Using only a phone camera, it checks form, gives real-time feedback, and tracks progress with quality scores, streaks, and milestone tests. It adapts to different age groups, offers multilingual support, and gamifies the rehab journey so exercises feel motivating rather than like a chore.

How we built it

We combined pose-estimation computer vision with a cross-platform mobile front end, connected to a secure cloud backend. Exercises are based on evidence-backed physiotherapy protocols. We layered in progress tracking, gamification features, and a simplified UI that works equally well for tech-savvy athletes and older adults.

Challenges

Making computer vision reliable with just a phone camera in everyday environments, balancing clinical accuracy with simplicity, ensuring privacy compliance, and designing an interface that works across demographics.

Accomplishments

We built a functioning prototype in under a weekend, created a feedback system that recognises tempo, alignment, and range of motion, and designed inclusive features like age-adaptive UI and multilingual content.

What we learned

The biggest barrier to rehab isn’t access — it’s adherence. Simple cues like “slow down” or “keep your knee aligned” make a huge difference. Inclusive design can unlock new audiences, and clinician trust will still be key.

What’s next

Expand exercise programs, pilot with sports clubs and community groups, validate outcomes, and build partnerships with insurers and clinics to scale globally as the go-to consumer rehab app.
