The inspiration behind Regen sprouted from a desire to intertwine technology with the earth’s well-being, particularly for those at the frontline of agriculture and environmental conservation. Observing the challenges faced by farmers in securing loans and the struggle for carbon offset initiatives to find funding, we saw an opportunity. By leveraging Hedera’s advanced blockchain capabilities, we envisioned a platform that not only supports sustainable farming but also propels carbon offset projects through innovative financing.

What it does

Regen acts as a dual-purpose platform: it facilitates easier access to loans for farmers and serves as a crowdfunding platform for carbon offset projects. By streamlining the financial support process for these critical areas, Regen directly contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious world.

How we built it

We harnessed the power of Hedera’s blockchain to create a secure, efficient, and transparent platform. Utilizing smart contracts for transactional operations and Guardian for policy creation and enforcement, we've ensured that financial engagements are both trustworthy and aligned with our mission. This blend of technology allows for seamless interactions between donors, farmers, and project owners.

Challenges we ran into

Navigating the technical complexities of integrating smart contracts with Guardian for dynamic policy management was our initial hurdle. Achieving a user-friendly interface that masks the underlying blockchain operations, while ensuring robust security and transparency, also tested our resolve.
