About the ProjectThe InspirationThe inspiration for CryoGuard AI came from real-world failures at Shree Balaji Refrigeration. I noticed a recurring, dangerous pattern: technicians occasionally overfill gas in refrigeration systems, causing extreme pressure spikes. This leads to irreversible compressor damage and, in worst-case scenarios, mechanical explosions. I wanted to bridge the gap between manual guesswork and high-precision engineering by creating an automated diagnostic assistant. How I Built ItI designed this as an integrated module for a service management dashboard.Data Modeling: I implemented a logic gate system to calculate the safe pressure threshold based on environmental temperature ($T$) and the specific refrigerant gas type.Frontend: Built with React and styled with CSS/Tailwind, using Framer Motion and GSAP to create smooth, high-end data visualization components.Backend: Developed with Node.js and Express, managing real-time sensor data feeds to monitor system status.Intelligence: The system uses a threshold algorithm to alert technicians if the gas pressure exceeds the safety limit, defined by:$$P_{safe} = P_{base} + \alpha(T - T_{amb})$$Where $P_{safe}$ is the safe operating pressure, $P_{base}$ is the standard pressure, and $\alpha$ is the thermal expansion coefficient.Challenges FacedSensor Calibration: Translating mechanical pressure fluctuations into clean digital signals was difficult. I solved this by implementing a smoothing function in my backend logic to filter out "noise" (brief, harmless spikes).User Interface: Making complex technical data intuitive for on-the-field technicians required simplifying the dashboard. I used GSAP to create "traffic-light" status indicators that warn users instantly if a system is becoming unstable. What I LearnedThrough this project, I deepened my understanding of:Hardware-Software Integration: How software can act as a safety layer for physical mechanical systems.Real-time Data Streams: Managing state in React for high-frequency updates.System Reliability: Why "Fail-Safe" design is just as important as the primary functionality.Built WithFrontend: React, Framer Motion, GSAP, Tailwind CSS, HTML5.Backend: Node.js, Express.js.Data & Logic: Python (for initial algorithm testing), MongoDB.Tools: VS Code, PCB Designer (for hardware component integration).
