Inspiration
Pandemic has been tough for me and lots of my friends - thing is, we're objectively not that bad off and mostly have a lot of first world problems. Yet we legitimately feel terrible and out problems feel huge to us. I find that the more I dwell on a problem, the worse it becomes. And if I nip it in the bud by thinking positively, it goes away. Reframe was made with that intention - to make problems seem not so bad and nip negative thinking in the bud.
What it does
It frames negative thoughts positively. Example: "I feel like I'm behind on everything" -> "I'm working hard on this difficult project and I'm moving into the right direction."
How we built it
Used the Open AI API and Flask
Challenges we ran into
- Hosting was a pain, first time working with flask
- started with next.js and pivoted to flask, front end was harder to do
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- think this is actually pretty cool and is something I might use whenever I'm feeling down, glad I made something that can actually help and doesn't
What we learned
- how to use flask
- working solo is way more efficient but less fun
What's next for Reframe - Stop Imposter Syndrome
- Make a nicer front end
- Tweak hyperparameters to get more consistent/creative results (mostly happy with the results though
- Connect it to twitter bot @goodvibes only
- Push notifs/text message enabled virtual assisant that can talk you through issues, virtual therapist is something I want to explore
Built With
- ai
- flask
- zeet
