Inspiration
The main inspirations for this story are sadly the passing of my grandfather to cancer. While I didn't ever get to meet him, it was a strange experience writing it in that it made me feel connected to him.
What it does
It emotionally resonates through a well told impactful story.
How we built it
I built it using images created within Gemini, animated with Veo 3.1, and edited it in Capcut. As well as some heavy lifting from eleven labs which provided the voice of the character "Iris". Without eleven labs this project would have been stiff.
Challenges we ran into
The usual suspects of character consistency and odd video generations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It's a great short film.
What we learned
A lot about pacing and sound design.

I've submitted it to multiple competitions.
