Inspiration
We wanted an AI tool that doesn't just give answers- but backs them up with credible sources and remembers what matters.
What it does
RefRAG lets users ask questions, delivers AI-generated answers with citations, and organizes saved responses into date-time segmented history drawer.
How we built it
We used React, TypeScript, for a smooth frontend, added context-based auth handling, and managed query history with in-memory state logic.
Challenges we ran into
Creating a responsive and intuitive UI for saved history that felt natural, and keeping the history display toggled correctly without disrupting the main UX.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A clean, interactive interface with working citation tracking and a functional slide-out history panel that feels seamless on both desktop and mobile.
What we learned
How small UX decisions- like visibility toggles and scroll behavior- can drastically change how users engage with AI results and memory.
What's next for RefRAG
- Persisting history with a database
- Searchable history by keywords or tags
- Enhanced citation ranking by source credibility
