Reforge — Build. Learn. Rebuild.
The Problem
Side projects rarely fail because the idea was bad.
More often, they stall because the scope grows too large, priorities become unclear, motivation drops, or life simply gets in the way. And when a project is abandoned, the most valuable part is often lost with it: the context and lessons behind the failure.
Months later, developers start another project and unknowingly repeat the same mistakes.
Reforge is built to break that cycle.
What is Reforge?
Reforge is a cross-platform project learning system for solo developers, indie hackers, students, and hackathon builders.
Instead of treating an abandoned project as a dead end, Reforge turns it into a source of knowledge for the next attempt.
Its core lifecycle is:
Capture → Build → Reflect → Learn → Rebuild
You can:
- 💡 Capture ideas before they disappear.
- 🎯 Shape a focused MVP instead of overbuilding.
- 🛠️ Build and track projects with tasks, decisions, and context.
- ⏸️ Pause or abandon projects deliberately rather than simply letting them disappear.
- 🧠 Run a guided post-mortem to understand what went wrong and what was learned.
- 🔥 Reforge the project into a V2, carrying the lessons and history forward.
The key idea is simple:
An abandoned project shouldn't be the end of the story. It should become the blueprint for a better attempt.
What Makes Reforge Different?
Traditional project-management tools focus on helping you manage what you are currently building.
Reforge focuses on something most tools overlook:
What can you learn from everything you've built before?
An idea, its build history, decisions, post-mortem, lessons, and future V2 are connected as one continuous project lineage.
That means when you return to an old project, you don't have to ask:
"Why did I stop this? What was I trying to do? What went wrong?"
Reforge keeps that context with the project.
What We Built During LovHack Season 3
During LovHack Season 3, we developed Reforge's core cross-platform experience and project lifecycle.
The implemented experience includes:
- Idea capture and organization
- MVP/project shaping
- Project workspace
- Tasks and decision tracking
- Project pause/abandonment workflow
- Guided post-mortem reflection
- Project history and lineage
- V2 project resurrection
- Gemini-powered project assistance
- Supabase authentication and database integration
- Local persistence with Hive
Our goal was not to build another task manager.
We built a system that helps builders turn unfinished work into reusable knowledge.

The repository contains setup instructions for running the Flutter application. For judging, we recommend providing a ready-to-use demo environment so judges can experience the full lifecycle without additional backend configuration.
Why Reforge?
Every builder has unfinished projects.
Some contain great ideas.
Some contain valuable mistakes.
Some simply started at the wrong time.
Reforge gives those projects a second life.
Build something. Learn from it. Rebuild it better.
That's Reforge.
