Less than 24 hours ago we were all fairly apprehensive for what would be the first SloHacks for all of us. A day later after an all-nighter and plenty of snacks...we're still pretty apprehensive but it is mixed in with excitement. The three of us met in the beginning of fall quarter and quickly bonded over our shared major, computer science. Turns out, it's one of the few things we have in common because we bicker all the time. Trying to understand one another's methods and visions was, like our game, a learning process. One thing we agreed on from the start: to create an experience based off of what people love in virtual games while implementing our own unique touches. For the general population, the intake of content per day only increases, and most new trends or fads do what they are meant to: they phase out. We recognize that people want a challenge, a casual pastime that they can be invested in for a short amount of time between carpools and business meetings. Something that can hook us in while relaxing us at the same time. “Multitasking” games are excellent at keeping different parts of the brain busy while encouraging improvement through high scores. One of our teammates, unsurprisingly the biggest gamer of the trio, found inspiration for our game through one of the first single-player games of its type: ReflexRush.
