  ReelToReal- "SEE IT. CRAVE IT. MAKE IT REAL."

ReelToReal was inspired by two common problems: people often discover food through Instagram and YouTube but cannot easily find the same dish nearby, while many qualified culinary graduates struggle to find immediate job opportunities. We wanted to connect these two needs through one platform.

We built ReelToReal as a platform where customers can share a dish name or food video and find nearby verified culinary professionals who can prepare it. Customers can compare chefs, choose ingredients, place orders, and securely complete the order using OTP verification. For chefs, every order becomes an opportunity to earn, build ratings, gain experience, and grow independently.

While building the project, we learned about user-centered design, web application development, authentication, payment and order workflows, verification, moderation, and creating a secure marketplace experience.

One of our major challenges was designing a system that balances customer convenience with chef safety, trust, and fair payment. We addressed this through verified chefs, protected payments, OTP-based order completion, in-app communication, chat moderation, and evidence-based reporting.

Our goal is not just to turn a food reel into real food, but to turn culinary skills into real opportunities.
