Inspiration

As a content creator and SaaS founder, I realized that creating short-form videos consistently was one of the biggest challenges. Writing scripts, generating visuals, adding voiceovers, subtitles, background music, and editing videos could take hours for a single reel.

Most AI video tools were either too expensive, too complicated, or focused on only one part of the workflow.

I wanted a single platform where anyone could turn an idea into a ready-to-publish viral video within minutes. That idea became ReelsMakerAI.

ReelsMakerAI is an AI-powered platform that helps creators, marketers, businesses, and agencies generate engaging faceless videos without editing experience.

With ReelsMakerAI you can:

How I built it

ReelsMakerAI is built using a modern full-stack architecture focused on performance and scalability.

Technology stack includes:

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • MongoDB
  • AI APIs for text, image, speech, and video generation
  • Cloud storage for media processing
  • Secure authentication and subscription management
  • Background workers for video rendering

The platform combines multiple AI models into a single workflow so users don't have to switch between different tools.

Challenges I ran into

Building an AI video platform wasn't easy.

Some of the biggest challenges included:

  • Processing large video files efficiently
  • Reducing video generation time
  • Keeping AI generation costs affordable
  • Managing long-running rendering jobs
  • Creating a simple user experience despite a complex backend
  • Supporting creators with different content styles and languages

Finding the right balance between quality, speed, and pricing required continuous iteration.

I've also learned that listening to customer feedback, improving the product every week, and focusing on long-term value matter far more than chasing short-term growth.
