With the rise of AI and data centers, one question that comes to mind is how to cool these data centers. One popular idea that has been adopted by many countries is creating data centers in the ocean. One big problem with this idea is how it would affect the temperature of the oceans and how it would affect wildlife around it, such as coral reefs. Coral Reefs are important cause protect us from intense climate, they accommodate shelter for 25% of marine life, and it has use case in medicine, especially in cancer research. Our project pulls information from data sets that observe how rising temperatures, overfishing, and invasive species affect the health of the coral reef. We used a trained model to predict the effects on coral reefs given the different variables stated above. We integrated an interactive globe to explore different reefs and see their locations relative to other reefs, and 3d interaction model for selected reefs. We also implemented Gemini and ElevenLabs to create a voice assistant that allows it to query a dataset and receive summaries of information regarding the coral reefs. It also makes the site more accessible to those with visual impairment and those who speak different languages. We learned about different prediction models such as Random Forest and XGBoost, and how to analyze the validity of models. In the future, we would like to implement more data and more closely inspect variables to have an even more accurate model.
