Inspiration
We loved the idea of forums in some of the modules we took but it was never really accessible in the sense that each module had their own platform. Thus, we decided to make a on-stop forum for the Institution, where students can easily navigate between modules and different forums.
What it does
Allows each user with an account to participate in the forums. Add their own module forum if not found and start their own thread to voice their thoughts, worries, anything! We have to foster an encouraging community, as any member of the institution, old or new, interact and hopefully advice/help each other in one way or another.
How we built it
Built with React, supported by a firebase backend.
Challenges we ran into
Routing gave us quite a big issue as well as passing props. Otherwise, trying to integrate old code into a new project seems harder than we thought as the behaviour has to be modified for each unique project, which may cause some issue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Churning this out in 8h....
What we learned
Move on from problems if possible to finish other components then we can come back to fix what's wrong instead of stagnating at one stage and not having much progress for the next hour.
What's next for Dapee (115)
Adding a lot more features such as editing/removing/chatting/voting functions and more...! And of course, fix bugs.
