Inspiration
Our project was inspired when we looked over the Waltham Boys & Girls Club website, and saw complicated navigation, hidden enrollment, and disconnected volunteer opportunities that we could improve on to create a better experience for those who could directly impact the vision that the Waltham Boys & Girls Club holds.
What it does
Our UI redesign transforms the Waltham Boys & Girls Club website, with the aim of simplifying navigation, streamlining enrollment, volunteer engagement, and donations to make community support more accessible.
How we built it
We built our project in HTML and CSS, using a compiler to ensure that our design was as clear as possible when updating the website.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were with implementing more complicated elements of the website that took some configuring, and troubleshooting before we were able to make them appear seamlessly with the website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the design we created and the potential it has to help with improving student enrollment, volunteer retention, and donation accessibility for the Waltham Boys & Girls Club.
What we learned
We all learned a lot about UX design, and what it takes in order to create not only a website, but one that has a clear and helpful UI to ensure all visitors can navigate it easily.
What's next for Redesigning Waltham Boys and Girls Club Website
Next steps for our project would be focused on parts that we didn't have time for during these 48 hours. Which includes enhancing functionality to the website, making it as simple as possible for the Waltham Boys & Girls Club to integrate our design as possible, and exploring any additional features that could support the club's vision.
