Inspiration

The idea sparked from Reddit's unique culture of inside jokes, legendary users, and cringe-worthy posts. We wanted to create something that celebrates Reddit's quirky community while showcasing Bolt.new's power to build complex applications rapidly. The "Hall of Cringe" concept emerged from Reddit's self-deprecating humor - turning embarrassment into entertainment.

What it does

Reddit Time Machine analyzes any Reddit user's posting history and transforms it into an immersive AI experience:

Personality Analysis: Calculates "cringe level" and generates AI archetypes
AI Video Personas: Three Tavus personalities (Roaster, Storyteller, Celebrator) deliver personalized consultations
Voice Narrations: ElevenLabs voices dramatize timelines, roasts, and predictions
Blockchain Hall of Cringe: Global leaderboard stored permanently on Algorand
Real-time Telemetry: Tracks worldwide usage with live visualizations
Social Sharing: Generate posts for X, LinkedIn, Instagram
Timeline Visualization: Interactive journey through Reddit history with milestone events

How we built it

Built entirely with Bolt.new in under a week:

Started with prompts describing the Reddit analyzer concept
Bolt.new generated the React/Tailwind frontend structure
Integrated 6 APIs through iterative prompting:
- Reddit OAuth for user data
- Dappier for AI-powered insights
- ElevenLabs for voice synthesis
- Tavus for video personas
- Algorand for blockchain storage
- Supabase for real-time features
Deployed continuously to Netlify (frontend) and Railway (backend)
Added security layers including ML-WAF, rate limiting, and cost protection

Challenges we ran into

API Rate Limiting: Juggling 6 different APIs with varying limits required sophisticated cost protection

Tavus Integration: "Max concurrent conversations" errors needed graceful fallbacks
Real-time Features: Syncing telemetry across global users while preventing abuse
Blockchain Learning Curve: First time implementing Algorand, required understanding testnet setup
Security at Scale: Protecting expensive APIs from abuse while maintaining good UX
CORS Issues: Cross-origin requests between Netlify and Railway needed careful configuration and Bolt.new failed to fix some errors wasted credits, upgraded to get things done, finally decided to go manually and through VS Code fro clean Job.
