🤖 About the Project: Reddit Roast Simulator

🔥 What inspired us

Reddit is home to some of the sharpest, funniest, and most savage comments on the internet—especially on subreddits like r/roastme. We thought:

What if an AI trained on that chaotic energy could roast people on command?

That’s how Reddit Roast Simulator was born. We wanted to mix absurdity, internet culture, and AI sass into one ridiculous, shareable experience.

🛠️ How we built it

We used Bolt.new to rapidly build the frontend and backend—no code needed!
Key features include:

  • An input field where users paste a Reddit post or comment.
  • A “Roast Me” button that triggers an AI prompt to generate a roast.
  • Funny one-liner roasts displayed instantly.
  • Optional: text-to-speech using ElevenLabs for the full roast effect.
  • Share buttons for Reddit and Twitter to fuel viral chaos.

We also customized the interface to feel like a meme page, complete with dark theme and mock testimonials from fake Reddit users.

🧠 What we learned

  • Bolt.new is shockingly powerful—building a fully functional app in hours felt like magic.
  • Crafting funny AI outputs requires just the right balance of sarcasm and restraint.
  • Building something silly can still teach you a lot about UX, prompt engineering, and viral product design.

🧱 Challenges we faced

  • Making the AI roasts funny without being too offensive.
  • Integrating external APIs like ElevenLabs without traditional backend code.
  • Keeping the app light, fast, and engaging while still showcasing Bolt.new’s capabilities.

🏁 Final thoughts
