Inspiration
The inspiration behind Reddit Daily Pulse was the way Reddit communities naturally engage through comments and discussion. We wanted to turn that organic interaction into a lightweight daily game without adding complex mechanics.
What it does
Reddit Daily Pulse presents a single daily prompt to the community. Each user can participate once per day by responding in the comments. The community then shapes the most impactful responses through discussion and voting, creating a shared daily ritual.
How we built it
The project is built using Devvit Web and Reddit Interactive Posts. The app selects a daily prompt based on the current date and uses Reddit’s native comment system as the core gameplay mechanic, ensuring a seamless and mobile-friendly experience.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was keeping the experience simple while still making it engaging. Designing a fair one-response-per-day mechanic and ensuring the game felt natural within Reddit’s ecosystem required careful consideration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a clean, intuitive daily game that feels native to Reddit. The project successfully turns comments into gameplay and encourages recurring community participation without overwhelming users.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how to design community-first experiences and how small, well-designed mechanics can drive daily engagement when aligned with platform culture.
What's next for Reddit Daily Pulse
Future improvements include customizable prompts for different subreddits, streak tracking, and featured daily highlights to further encourage participation.
