Redd-Verse

Inspiration

The inspiration for Redd-Verse came from the unique blend of Reddit’s dynamic community and Japan’s rich cultural tradition of haiku poetry. By combining the creativity of Reddit users with the timeless elegance of haikus, we aimed to create an engaging, collaborative, and introspective experience that celebrates user-generated content while fostering a deeper appreciation for language and self-expression.

What it does

Redd-Verse allows players to transform their last Reddit comment into haikus in various tones—Shakespearean, futuristic, poetic, or sarcastic—and share them back to Reddit. It also features a Haiku Arranging Game where players reconstruct haikus from shuffled words or phrases fetched from their comments, earning points for accuracy and creativity. Additionally, users can analyze their last five comments to uncover their Reddit persona type, adding a fun layer of self-discovery.

What we learned

We learned the value of combining AI with user-generated content to foster creativity and engagement. Understanding user behavior through persona analysis deepened our appreciation for Reddit’s diverse community. Additionally, working with Devvit and Redis enhanced our technical skills in building scalable and interactive apps.
