Inspiration

Inspiration for Redd-Venture comes from classic puzzle games, interactive word challenges, and detective stories, with a focus on incorporating elements from Reddit's engaging community-driven content. We aimed to create a game that lets players step into the shoes of a detective, solving riddles and piecing together clues. This blend of mystery and puzzle-solving encourages players to use their wits and attention to detail while enjoying a visually immersive experience.

What it does

Redd-Venture: The Reddit Adventure is a fun, interactive game combining puzzles, riddles, maps and word challenges in a thrilling level-based experience. Each level is a grid of 100 boxes, and players must find the correct box based on a question hint. Selecting the right box unlocks a riddle or word puzzle, which must be solved within a countdown timer. Players earn points as they progress through unique levels, with increasing challenges at each stage. The game features dynamic scoring, a leaderboard to track top players, and exciting visual effects for feedback. It’s an engaging mix of quick thinking, problem-solving, and strategy, perfect for fans of word games and puzzles!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’ve successfully built an engaging, multi-level puzzle game that blends word challenges with interactive gameplay. The integration with Devvit for dynamic score tracking and leaderboard management has been a key achievement.

What we learned

We’ve learned how to effectively manage game state, integrate real-time feedback, and implement a responsive, user-friendly UI. The experience taught us how to balance game mechanics with a smooth, enjoyable player experience while managing scores and progress seamlessly.
